Workshop Description

You will acquire the skills and knowledge required to facilitate a culture of open communication and encourage team members to achieve a common purpose in building workplace relations.

 

Competency Elements

This competency unit consists of the following elements:

  1. Trends and Characteristics of the Workplace
  2. Leading and managing work teams in developing systems to support workplace diversity
  3. Individual and Team roles and accountability to promote workforce diversity

Knowledge

At the end of the workshop, the participant will know about:

  • Legal and Ethical Considerations relating to Workplace Diversity
  • Organisational Policies and Procedures which provide clarification or assistance in relation to Diversity within the Organisation
  • Common Barriers to Developing a Diverse and Cooperative Workplace
  • Workforce Characteristics
  • Individual Roles and Accountabilities for Promoting Workforce Diversity
  • Team Leader Role and Accountability for Promoting Workforce Diversity
  • Scope of Responsibilities as the Manager of a Department
  • Cross Functional Teams in Leading and Managing several Work Teams or Projects
  • Individual Roles and Accountabilities for Promoting  Workforce Diversity
  • Common Barriers to Developing a Diverse and Cooperative Workplace

Abilities

At the end of the workshop, the participant will be able to:

  • Develop Systems and Processes that Support Organisational Diversity Strategies

  • Monitor the Implementation of Systems and Processes to Support Workforce Diversity

  • Adjust Interpersonal Style to the Social and Cultural business Contexts

Notes

A WSQ Statement of Attainment will only be issued upon successful completion of the module by fulfilling the following requirements:

  • Achieve 75% attendance
  • Pass the assessment

Note:

Self-Sponsored

  1. Singaporean & PR aged 21 and above = 70% funding.
  2. Singaporeans only (not PR) aged 40 and above = 90% funding.
  3. Singaporeans aged 35-39 with WSS letter = 70% funding.

Company-Sponsored (till end of 2020)

  1. Singaporeans & PRs aged 21 years and above are allowed 90% funding.
  2. Absentee Payroll applies for company sponsored up to $10/training hour. Please use Absentee Payroll calculator provided by SSG to calculate the absentee payroll for your employee.
